Xiaozhou has been a Professor of Finance at ESG UQAM since 2015 and also serves as Director of the Undergraduate Finance Program. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the Harbin Institute of Technology (China), a Master’s degree in Management from IAE Lille (France), a Master’s degree in Economics from the Université de Montréal, and a Ph.D. in Finance from HEC Montréal. With more than a decade of academic and professional experience, his expertise includes financial risk management, market microstructure, and FinTech innovation. Xiaozhou has published extensively in leading international journals, secured major research grants from Canada, Quebec, and abroad, and contributed his expertise as an invited editor and external evaluator for universities across the country.

He has served as a parent member of the Governing Board at Saint-Clément-Est and as a representative on the Parents’ Committee of the Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Service Centre. He has also fostered educational and community partnerships by establishing international exchange programs and organizing experiential learning competitions for students.

As a public educator, Xiaozhou regularly shares his expertise with the wider community, appearing in media interviews with outlets such as Radio Canada, Les Affaires, and L’actualité. Fluent in English, French, and Mandarin, and with professional experience across Canada, Europe, and Asia, he brings a global outlook combined with a strong dedication to local service. Xiaozhou is committed to establishing a transparent, efficient, and collaborative town council for the City of Mont-Royal—one where every citizen is heard and empowered.
